Lene Mayer-Skumanz was born in Vienna in 1939, the city where she lives. She studied German Studies and Classic Philology and she writes books for children and adults. Her very first book, published in 1965, was awarded with the “Austrian Children and Young Adult’s Literature Award”. Lene Mayer-Skumanz was nominated to Hans Chritian Andersen Award in 2008.
This book for all the family introduces to us the main periods and events in baroque composer G.F. Händel’s life. Händel was born in Halle (Germany), lived between Hamburger and Hanover and got a wide recognition, also in Italy, and, above all, in England. Händel composed numerous pieces of music of different music styles.
